Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Rogers

Rogers Collection
now at the Pickens County Library

Mr. Wayne Rogers has donated over 600 research books for use in the Georgia Reserved Book Room at the Pickens County Library, Jasper, Georgia. Most of the books are of the state of Virginia's official county records. The Rogers' significant contribution will establish the Pickens County Library as a premier research repository for genealogists and historians who are interested in colonial Virginia and southern records. View a summary of the collection or search the Online Catalog of the Sequoyah Library System.

Mr. and Mrs. Rogers are residents of Bent Tree. Mr. Rogers has been active in historical and genealogical societies in Texas and Georgia before moving to Pickens County.

Wayne Rogers and his wife, Helena, were honored at a reception hosted by the Marble Valley Historical Society, Inc., and the Pickens County Library staff on the 15th of May. Ruth Wall did an outstand job coordinating the refreshments for the reception. Visit a small reception photo gallery. Photographs were provided by Chuck Anderson, PR, Sequoyah Regional Library, and Chuck Hurt, VP Marble Valley Historical Society.

The softbound books in the Rogers Collection have been organized in lots relating to location. The books were provided with hard covers with funds contributed by the Marble Valley Historical Society, Friends of the Pickens County Library, and individual gifts.
